Cuddle Punk
One of Sara’s favorite perfumes… “An unconventional combination of apricot, pipe tobacco and vanilla,” says the manufacturer.
I remember she wore it on our wedding day – I may have actually picked it out, but the memory is hazy. I think Sara gave me a few different perfumes to choose from, and I picked this one.
An unconventional combination. Sara and I.
She didn’t wear the perfume too often – at one point she thought it had been discontinued, but then I pulled it up on the website and pointed out that it was still available (and it still is, today).
I can close my eyes and remember our wedding day so clearly – our house crowded with people, me waiting nervously out in the living room. When it started, Sara walked out from the office – our hallway her aisle. After we were wed and we embraced, I know I breathed in the scent of the Cuddle Punk that had been spritzed on her neck.
I know she wore it other times, but I don’t recall any particulars. Even still, the smell of the perfume is Sara.
Right now, Sara’s bottle of it is in my nightstand drawer – maybe tonight I’ll pull it out and lightly spritz the room before I go to bed. It’s been awhile since I’ve done that. But sometimes it’s nice to let myself lay back and just remember – and even though I’ve never been particularly attuned to my sense of smell, this is one that definitely helps transport me to another place and time, when Sara was still here with us.
