Prompt 18: A Blessing

To my fellow humans whose souls are carrying the weight of loss,
today I bring you a blessing.

On days when the weight is so much that you are struggling to breathe,
May a hand or a heart or a breeze help lift it enough to bring you relief.

On days when you see nothing but scorched earth around you,
May you be able to sense the germinating new life buried deep.

On days when you are disappointed by those you thought would be your rocks,
May you be able to feel the strings of connection between your heart and the hearts of those who love you, no matter how far they may be.

On days when you want nothing more than to turn back time,
May your heart be filled with loving memories and joy.

On days when nothing feels like it will ever be okay again,
May you find moments of peace and clarity rooted in love.

But most of all, on all days, as you are riding the waves of grief, whether in the immediate aftermath of your loss or in the distant future from it,
May you find compassion and love and patience for yourself.

Note: this was written based on a writing prompt provided to me through a paid course I am taking. I am not including the prompt, because the daily prompts are a critical component of that course.
